Pop! Pop! Ep. 35 – Avengers Endgame Review

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started 11 years ago with a little film called Iron Man.  A risky play for Marvel, who’d previously sold the rights to their characters to other, much larger, studios. Factor in Robert Downey Jr, who hadn’t had the best track record as of late, and no one knew what was going to happen.  We know now though – the movie was a giant success and spawned Phase I  of the MCU… which of course led into Phase II and penultimately, Phase III.

Across the span of the MCU, we’ve been delighted to watch some of Hollywood’s most beloved actors kick ass on the silver screen.  Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Rudd and Mark Ruffalo are all A-list actors to begin with, but the MCU also gave some of our favorite actors a super-serum-sized pop culture stardom injection.  The Holy Trinity of Chris, AKA: Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt and Chris Evans all blew up thanks to the MCU.  And before my head gets bit off, yes, Chris Evans had been around much longer than either of the other Chris’, but he had never achieved a role quite as important as Captain America.

Avengers Endgame

All of this hard work, all of the blood, sweat and tears, all of the midnight screenings and Comic-Con panels all led to this last weekend.  Avengers Endgame premiered a year after Infinity War and we all finally got the answers we wanted.  This time around, the guys (along with Taylor’s brother Reed) bring you a monumentally important episode of Pop! Pop! where all things Endgame are discussed.  The importance of the film, the legacy of the MCU, and of course, a deep dive review of the movie are all in store for you this week. No nerd news, no side-topics, and almost no tangents… This is a 100% Avengers Endgame episode.  As you know, Thanos demands our silence, so we won’t spoil anything here in text! You’ll need to tune in for the full review!

All of this, but not more (this time) on this episode of Pop! Pop! The Pop Culture Podcast!
