First Preview Revealed For New Will Smith Sci-Fi Flick ‘Gemini Man’

The first preview for the new Will Smith sci-fi flick Gemini Man has arrived. Two-time Academy Award-winner Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Life of Pi) directed the film. The official trailer can be streamed below.

“I’m excited to present to you, right now, the world premiere of the trailer for Gemini Man,” Smith said in a self-shot video that precedes the actual preview of the movie. The video was made on the set of the film, with Smith declaring that the movie is “not even done yet” and “its [the trailer] so hot that we’re gonna, like, show it to you the trailer before the movies’ finished.”

The supporting cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Live Free or Die HardAbraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Tony Award nominee Linda Marie Emond (The Land, The Big Sick) and Benedict Wong, who is coming off a role in the blockbuster superhero movie Avengers: Infinity War (2018). He will reprise his role in the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame which hit theaters this Thursday.

Clive Owen will play opposite Smith as Clay Varris. Owen was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Closer (2004). The role earned him a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Award. He is also an Emmy Award nominee.

It is helmed by legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who has previously worked with Smith on Enemy of the State, Bad Boys, and Bad Boys II. Bruckheimer is also producing Bad Boys For Life, the third installment in the franchise. Smith reprises his role as Detective Mike Lowrey, alongside Martin Lawrence and Joe Pantoliano.

The film was shot on location in Glenville, GA (US), Cartagena, Columbia, and Budapest, Hungary. The film was shot digitally on a modifies ARRI Alexa cinema camera at 120fps. Bill Westenhofer and Weta Digital provided the stunning visual effects for the film.

“The technology on this movie is crazy,” Smith stated in his video intro to the trailer. “I want ya’ll to see this, check it out.”

Gemini Man arrives in theaters on October 11, 2019 via Paramount Pictures.
