First Cast, Filming Details For ‘Bond 25’ Revealed

The first details for Bond 25 have been revealed. The forthcoming film in the franchise will feature a stellar supporting cast surrounding Daniel Craig, who reprises his role as James Bond. Also set to return are Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomi Harris as Moneypenny, Lea Seydeoux as Madeleine, and Rory Kinnear as Tanner. Jeffrey Wright, who played Felix in previous Bond installments Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, is also coming back.

Fresh faces coming to the new film are Dali Benssalah, Ana de Armas, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, David Dencik, and Lashana Lynch who recently appeared in Captain Marvel. Academy Award winner Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody, Mr. Robot) is set to play the new villian.

“I will be making sure Mr. Bond doesn’t have an easy ride in this,” Malek stated in during an annoumcement for the film.

Emmy Award-winning director Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Jane Eyre, Beasts of No Nation) has revealed that filming will take place in Jaimaca. Shooting will also occur in Norway, Italy, and Pinewood Studios.

“Bond is not in active service,” producer Barbara Broccoli said. “He’s enjoying himself in Jamaica, his spiritual home.”

A press release that followed the film’s announcent went into greater detail about the film’s plot. “Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica,” the statement read. “His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Bond 25 will arrive in theaters on April 8, 2020 via MGM/Eon Productions. Production was delayed when original director Danny Boyle left the project last August because of a script dispute.
