After we bid farewell to fan-favorite characters Rick and Maggie on AMC’s “The Walking Dead“, it appears that we will soon be bidding farewell to yet another of our beloved characters, as actress Danai Gurira, has revealed that she has plans to leave the series after season 10!
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Danai Gurira – who plays the badass Michonne in the series – will be gradually quitting the show over the course of the next season, just commissioned by the AMC network. The actress has already signed a new deal for the coming episodes, guaranteeing a minimum number of appearances in Season 10.
Gurira has signed a contract that is similar to actress Lauren Cohen leaving herself open to the possibility of making a few guest return spots in future episodes of the series. This could also mean that she could be making an appearance in the upcoming films that will focus on Rick’s disappearance. While the details of Michonne’s exit have not yet been confirmed, we can only speculate that it will somehow involve her continued search for Rick.
