Lady Gaga Accepts Award for ‘Best Original Song’ at 2019 Oscars, Sobbing During Speech

After a breathtaking performance of “Shallow” with Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga was able to accept the honor of an Academy Award at the 2019 Oscars for the ‘A Star Is Born’ song “Shallow” for ‘Best Original Song.’ The ‘A Star Is Born’ song “Shallow” was written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.

This Academy Award marks Gaga’s first ever Academy Award and she was honored, shocked and very emotional during her acceptance of the award. Gaga powered through tears, breathing heavy, and sobbing while she accepted the award with Cooper watching from the front of the crowd. Gaga thanked Cooper saying, “There is not a single person on the planet who could have sung this song with me but you.”

Gaga saying, “If you’re at home sitting on your couch, this is hard work. I’ve worked hard for a long time…it’s not about winning, but what it’s about is not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it. It’s not about how many times you get rejected, it’s about how many times you stand up and are brave and keep on going.”
