Trailer Binge: ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, ‘John Wick: Chapter 3’, ‘High Life’, ‘The Widow’ & ‘Happy!’

Welcome to Trailer Binge, a recurring feature where we get a chance to catch up on some of the recent trailer releases in the past week. Whether it be indie releases, or recent movie and TV trailers that may have otherwise slipped through the cracks, Trailer Binge allows us to catch up on the seemingly constant onslaught of new new content being released each week.

In this edition of Trailer Binge, we take a look at trailers for Spider-Man: Far From Home, John Wick: Chapter 3 and the inde science fiction thriller, High Life. Plus, we have TV trailers for the upcoming Amazon series The Widow, as well as Happy! season 2. Let the binge begin!

Spider-Man: Far From Home Teaser Trailer

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home is finally here! Directed by Jon Watts, the sequels stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, Cobie Smulders, Angourie Rice, Martin Starr, JB Smoove, and Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to swing into theaters everywhere on July 5, 2019.

Peter Parker goes on a school trip to Europe with his friends. While abroad, he is recruited by Nick Fury to team up with Mysterio to battle the Elementals.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

Next, we have a brand spanking new trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 — ParabellumChad Stahelski returns to the director’s chair for the sequel, along with a massive cast consisting of  Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Lawrence Fishburne, Anelica Huston,  Jason Mantzoukas, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tiger Hu Chen, Yayan Ruhian, Cecep Arif Rahman, Lance Reddick, Common, and Ruby Rose. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum arrives in theaters on May 17th.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

High Life Trailer

A24 has released the first trailer for Claire Denis‘ upcoming sci-fi thriller High Life. The film stars Robert PattinsonJuliette Binoche, Mia Goth and Andre Benjamin. The film opens in theaters on April 12th.

Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his baby daughter are the last survivors of a damned and dangerous mission to deep space. The crew—death-row inmates led by a doctor (Juliette Binoche) with sinister motives—has vanished. As the mystery of what happened onboard the ship is unraveled, father and daughter must rely on each other to survive as they hurtle toward the oblivion of a black hole. A staggering and primal film about love and intimacy, suffused with anguished memories of a lost Earth, High Life is a haunting, thrilling achievement from visionary director Claire Denis.

The Widow Trailer

Moving to TV, Amazon has released a new trailer for The Widow. Directed by Sam Donovan and Olly Blackburn (Donkey Punch), the series stars Kate Beckinsale and Charles Dance. The Widow hits Amazon Prime Video on March 1, 2019

Has she lost everything or is she chasing a ghost? Kate Beckinsale stars as Georgia Wells, and is on the hunt to uncover answers surrounding her husband’s mysterious disappearance.

Happy! Season 2 Trailer

Finally, we have a trailer for season 2 of  SyFy’s trippy comedy series, Happy! Written and Executive Produced by Brian Taylor and Grant Morrison, the series stars Christopher MeloniPatton Oswalt, Patrick Fischler, Ritchie Coster, Lili Mirojnick, Medina Senghore, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Bryce Lorenzo. Happy! premieres on March 27, 2019, but in the meantime here’s the synopsis from season 1:

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Nick Sax is a corrupt, intoxicated, ex-cop turned hit man who is adrift in a twilight world of casual murder, soulless sex, and betrayal. After a hit goes wrong, Nick finds a bullet in his side, the cops and the mob on his tail, and a monstrous killer on the loose. But his world is about to be changed forever by a tiny, imaginary, blue-winged horse with a relentlessly positive attitude named Happy. On their journey, they must contend with a laundry list of enemies including angry mobsters, ex-mistresses, ex-wives, and one very bad Santa.
