Wonder Woman Sequel Pushed Back To 2020

The news has recently been revealed that the highly anticipated “Wonder Woman” sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984” has been pushed back by seven months, but Warner Bros. reveals that it’s for good reason.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on November 1, 2019, however star Gal Gadot revealed on Instagram that the film will now be released on June 5, 2020 instead. This is due scheduling considerations as Warner Bros would prefer a summer blockbuster release rather than speeding it out next fall.

Others have the opinion that the postponement has more to do with the release dates for the rest of the DC Cinematic Universe films, as “Aquaman” will be released on December 19, followed by Shazam! on April 3, 2019, which left plenty of room for “WW84” in November, as “Birds Of Prey” will be released in February of 2020.

Also, the fact that the stand alone “Joker” film starring Joaquin Phoenix, which is supposedly not part of the the DCU, will be released in October of 2019, may also have something to do with why the release date was pushed back, as they most likely do not want to see these two films have to compete for box office numbers!
