Ray Fisher Cast as Cyborg in ‘Batman vs. Superman’

FisherRelative unknown Ray Fisher, who’s sole credit is a 2008 off-Broadway story of Muhammad Ali, has been cast as Cyborg in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman vs. Superman.  With an incredible amount of star power already attracted to the project, it makes sense going with a relative unknown.  Plus, the rumor is that this guy can really act, recently auditioning for the J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars: Episode VII, which sounds good to me.  Fisher will reportedly play a smaller role in the Man of Steel sequel, and will more or less be introduced for the upcoming DC installments, including  Justice League film .

Quick backstory on Cyborg

Cyborg was first introduced in DC Comics Presents #26 in 1980.  While best know as the founding member of the Teen Titans, in the 2011 DC reboot, he became a featured member of the Justice League, which makes sense why he may be a prominent hero in the films.  Cyborg, also known as Victor Stone, is the product of scientific experiments performed by his parents.  He’s half man half machine, who’s IQ grows to genius levels.

Snyder’s ‘Batman vs. Superman’ sequel looks to add even more characters in the future, expanding their own Cinematic Universe.  While we may be far off from getting any plot or story details, every casting announcement has added to the excitement.  We’ll see where it goes from here, but for now we have Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Lex Luthor all ready to go.
