Before Netflix brought Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle to the digital streaming masses, there was Ray Stevenson. Before Stevenson there was Thomas Jane, and well before that, there was Dolph Lundgren, but I digress. Marvel’s most brutal character, The Punisher, has been beloved by fans ever since dawning the white boots on the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #129. The character has had a few cinematic adaptations over the years and two of them are receiving a 4K Ultra HD combo pack release from Lionsgate.

Fast forward to 2007, Punisher made a comeback but a much darker one – if you could believe that the Punisher could get any darker. Punisher: War Zone was from the Marvel Knights branch which was to be a film production focused on darker and grittier films. Marvel Knights co-produced two films, one being Punisher: War Zone and the other being Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
