Mark Hamill Finally Receives Star on Walk of Fame

The man, the myth, the legend who is Mark Hamill has finally received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The ceremony which took place yesterday. In attendance where family and cast turned friends to celebrate the career that Mark Hamill has made.

Hamill began his acting career in the 60’s on General Hospital as Kent Murray. He made numerous appearances on TV shows such as The Bill Cosby Show, The Partridge Family, The Scooby-Doo Movies, One Day at a Time and many more. But it was’t until 1977 where George Lucas hired Hamill to star in a low-budget sci-fi film called Star Wars: A New Hope. Hamill would play the baby-faced and ambitious character Luke Skywalker. The film turned out to be a huge success. Hamill would go on to reprise his role has Luke Skywalker for years to come including in 2017’s The Last Jedi.

Aside from Star Wars, Hamill has also lent his distinguished voice to an already iconic character, The Joker, in the 90s Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and then again in Batman: The Animated Series. There he would make his staple in the pop culture world as thee voice of The Joker.

Hamill has had many of credits to his name (somewhere in the hundreds) and has been a part of many lives with what he has done both on and off screen. It’s an incredible career and it will no doubt continue to be for years to come. From all of us here at Age of the Nerd, thank you Mr. Hamill and congratulations to a great accomplishment!
