‘Red Sparrow’ Featurettes, Clips and TV Spots Tease The Spy-Thriller

20th Century Fox has released a boatload of new featurettes, clips, and TV spots for ‘Red Sparrow‘, starring Jennifer Lawrence. The film reunites Lawrence with ‘Hunger Games‘ director Francis Lawrence for a cold war spy-thriller that looks rather intriguing. Many have jokingly referred to the film as the unofficial Black Widow spinoff, due to it’s similarities with that character’s origin. Although the film is still a few weeks away from hitting theaters across the country, the film has already screened for critics, and the response has been…divisive to say the least.

The movie looks fine to me, I could really take it or leave it at this point, but the one thing I’m still kind of hung up on, however, is Lawrence’s awful accent in all of the material we’ve seen so far. Either way, all of these featurettes, clips, and TV spots do a good job of selling this aura of mystery around Lawrence’s character, Dominika and the still somewhat unclear predicament that surrounds that character. ‘Red Sparrow‘ is set for release on March 2, 2018 and stars Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, Joely Richardson, and Jeremy Irons. In the meantime, here’s the official synopsis for the film:

Prima ballerina Dominika Egorova faces a bleak and uncertain future after she suffers an injury that ends her career. She soon turns to Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people to use their minds and bodies as weapons. Egorova emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow after completing the sadistic training process. As she comes to terms with her new abilities, Dominika meets a CIA agent who tries to convince her that he is the only person she can trust.
