New York City private investigator Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is beginning to put her life back together after murdering her tormenter, Kilgrave. Now known throughout the city as a super-powered killer, a new case makes her reluctantly confront who she really is while digging deeper into her past to explore the reasons why. Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) is joined by an incredible returning cast that includes Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Eka Danville (Malcolm Ducasse) and new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez, among others.

From what we know and have seen (which is still very little) J.R Ramirez will be playing Oscar, the new superintendent of Jessica’s embattled NYC apartment building. Portraying a devoted single father of a son who has become infatuated with Jessica and her powers. Oscar prefers to stay clear of the trouble that tends to follow powered people. With season one love interest Luke Cage now in a steady relationship many are speculating Ramirez’s character to fill that role.

Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg spoke to Deadline back in November, and although she remained fairly vague here is what she said about the upcoming season.

“I think one of the things I would be able to do now, that’s harder to do in the first season, is to really expand on the ensemble…I would hope to further expand on the ensemble, and on Jessica’s world. She ends in a very different place than she started off. She’s still going to be Jessica Jones — that is not going to change. She will continue to drink and make mistakes, and accidentally drop people onto train tracks, but something has changed for her by the end of this season, and I’d just love to explore that in the second season.”

Jessica Jones season 2 will be available on Netflix March 8, 2018, in honor of International Women’s Day. The season contains 13 episodes, all which are directed by women.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight, Dexter), Ruelle Tucker (True Blood), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) and Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist) who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
