Johnny Comes Back for More in Teaser Trailer for ‘Cobra Kai’ – ‘Karate Kid’ Sequel

Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) renew their rivalry after decades in the upcoming Karate Kid sequel Cobra Kai.

Cobra Kai, an upcoming YouTube Red series, will see the the two rival characters from the popular 80s franchise Karate Kid, as adults and still holding on to a grudge. The doors to the Cobra Kai dojo have be reopened as Johnny comes back to put Daniel in a body bag! Watch the teaser trailer below.

The series will follow Miguel Diaz, a bullied teen who is mentored by Johnny; and Robby Keene who is Johnny’s son and is out to prove himself to be nothing like his father.

Cobra Kai will have Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their roles with new additions Xolo Maridueña,Tanner BuchananCourtney Henggeler and Mary Mouser.

In The Karate Kid (1984) Daniel (Ralph Macchio) moved to a new town and found himself quickly being bullied by Johnny (William Zabka) and his buddies. Daniel is then trained by Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) and enters a martial arts tournament that has him facing his bullies.

The series is written by Josh Heald who also wrote Hot Tub Time Machine, a film in which Zabka channeled his Karate Kid character for the role of Rick. Susan Ekins, Will Smith, James Lassiter, and Caleeb Pinkett will executively produce.
