Is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Going to Appear in the ‘Venom’ Film?

Sony Picture’s Venom film will hit theaters later this year and just a week ago, the studio released the first pic from the film which stars Tom Hardy. This week a new rumor has broken out about the film and it involves Venom’s rival hero, Spider-Man.

According to Jon Schnepp of Collider, Spider-Man will appear in the upcoming villain spin-off film. In a video released on youtube, Schnepp claims that he knows this news but says he will not say how he knows. (The typical inside scoop reporting). He even goes as far to say that it will be Holland‘s version of the web-shooter that will be in the film. The group of pop culture enthusiasts begin to talk about the Venom film around the 1:30 mark of the video.

(Update)

In an even newer video from Collider, Schnepp calls out everyone that tells him that it does not make sense for Spider-Man to be in the Venom film. Schnepp says they (the nay sayers) are all wrong and that he knows for a fact that Tom Holland was on the set of the film shooting for two days. He then clarifies his first report and says that Holland will only appear as Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s true identity.

Back in 2015, Sony and Disney made a blockbuster deal which allowed Sony owned Spider-Man to appear in Marvel films. The deal allowed Spider-Man (Tom Holland) to appear in Captain America: Civil War and in return, Marvel then allowed Iron-Man (Robert Downey Jr.) to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming. As the deal still stands, Spider-Man will appear in the highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War.

If Holland does appear in the film, this would connect the Sony Spider-verse with the Marvel Cinematic Universe even though the Venom film is said to be completely separate from the MCU.

Venom hits theaters October 15, 2018 and will star Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson and Riz Ahmed. Will Tom Holland join the credits?
