Warning: Potential Spoilers Ahead.

This week’s episode of The Flash “Elongated Journey into Night”, 2 new characters were introduced into the CW’s Arrowverse. Breacher and Ralph Dibny a.k.a The Elongated Man. As the teasers imply about the tensions between Barry and Ralph, we also witness the cat and mouse chase between Cisco and Breacher.

Directed by Tom Cavanagh, who earlier helmed the fiery “The Once and Future Flash” in season 3. This episode strikes the perfect balance between the elements of fun and humor. Right from the opening sequence under The Matrix poster to the introduction of Ralph Dibny as the dirty detective. The overall flow of the episode is pretty fabulous.

Every episode in the current season stands out on its own with a unique defining moment/character in it. In the fourth episode, well known bad@ass Danny Trejo who typically plays himself, this time the slight difference is he is overprotective father of Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) comes to steal the show. The writers were quick and neat in shifting between the subplots which ensured the entertaining result.

Liked:

1. The Demonstration of Elongated man’s powers.

2. The CG work during the final fight,

3. Breacher and Cisco’s chemistry.

4. Dialogue referring  Hemsworth,

5. Sticking to the original comic book relation between Ralph and Barry.

Disliked:

1. The pacing of the episode,

2. The cliche way of revealing a mystery about the main villain.

Barring few shortcomings which include Ralph, revealing some information about DeVoe and an irrelevant Mayor thread, Elongated Journey into Night is a delight to watch. Now I am looking forward to the big crossover event Crisis on Earth-X.

This Week’s Cast:

Regular – Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, and Tom Cavanagh.

Guest – Jessica Camacho, Danny Trejo, and Danny Trejo.

Direction: Tom Cavanagh.
