Kate Winslet Cast in ‘Avatar’ Sequels

Kate Winslet has been cast in James Cameron’s upcoming ‘Avatar’ sequels. It’s been 8 years since the original ‘Avatar‘ was released in theaters, but the production on the anticipated sequels has been revving up it’s engines for some time, after seemingly endless period of research and development to develop new technology for the production.

According to deadline, Winslet has been cast as a character named “Ronal”, although it is not specified if she will be playing a human or Na’vi, the name itself indicates the latter. To be honest, it comes off a quite the surprise that the ‘Titanic‘ duo are reuniting once again, but it should add an interesting dynamic to an ever growing cast.

In regards to the casting of Winslet, Cameron had to say this:

“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

The first sequel will be released on December 18, 2020. The second sequel will open on December 17, 2021, followed by Avatar 4 in December 20, 2024 and Avatar 5 on December 19, 2025.
