Rat Film

(AOTN)-SMT Heads, you’ve never thought of yourself as a rat, we’re sure… But tonight, maybe it’s time to think about rats. Especially as you ponder the latest documentary offering from Cinema Guild Pictures, “Rat Film.”

Yes, “Rat Film” is what it sounds like. Yet you’ve never seen a film like it, either. Check out the trailer, right here:

Rat FilmRAT FILM: Rats, Maps, and Extermination in an American City.

Across walls, fences, and alleys, rats not only expose our boundaries of separation but make homes in them. RAT FILM is a feature-length documentary that uses the rat—as well as the humans that love them, live with them, and kill them–to explore the history of Baltimore. “There’s never been a rat problem in Baltimore, it’s always been a people problem.”

RAT FILM director Theo Anthony is a writer, photographer, and filmmaker currently based in Baltimore, MD. His work has been featured by the The Atlantic, Vice, Agence-France Presse (AFP), and other international media outlets. His films have received premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival, and Anthology Film Archives. In 2015, he was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film”.

MEMORY is an independent production company based in Hollywood, California founded in 2014 by Riel Roch-Decter and Sebastian Pardo. Since then the duo have produced the feature length documentary Life After Death From Above 1979, Celia Rowlson-Hall’s debut feature MA, Carson Mell’s debut feature Another Evil and Dean Fleischer-Camp’s controversial documentary Fraud. In 2016, the founders of MEMORY were named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film”

Cinema Guild is a premier distributor of independent, foreign and documentary films, whose recent theatrical releases include Albert Serra’s The Death of Louis XIV, Mehrdad Oskouei’s Starless Dreams, Asghar Farhadi’s About Elly and Lisandro Alonso’s Jauja.
