‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ Trailer to debut at NYCC 2017

Pacific Rim: Uprising‘ is a little over six months away, and we have yet to see much from the film. Last month, we learned that the film had delayed it’s release date nearly a month. Well, it seems that we will have to wait another few weeks, as the first official trailer for ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising‘ is set to be revealed at New York Comic-Con 2017.

The film’s panel will feature the traditional Q&A, but guests attending the presentation will also be treated the premiere of the film’s official trailer. It will surely be released online thereafter, but here is the info on the panel, which came form the NYCC official website:

PACIFIC RIM UPRISING director Steven S. DeKnight will be joined by stars John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Burn Gorman and Cailee Spaeny—as well as moderator Aaron Sagers, SYFY WIRE’s editor-at-large—to discuss the upcoming action-adventure from Legendary and introduce the world premiere of the new trailer.  The follow-up to 2013’s cinematic epic of monsters and mechs, the film will inspire a new generation to become the biggest heroes to ever walk the earth.  Also starring Jing Tian, Rinko Kikuchi, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day, PACIFIC RIM UPRISING hits theaters March 2018.  #JoinTheUprising #PacificRimUprising

Pacific-rim-jager-uprisingTruth be told, I really loved the first film – a lot. Probably more than I should have, but I still believe that ‘Pacific Rim is one hell of a good time. Although we don’t really know that much about the film, i’m hoping that Steven S. DeKnight will be able to bring as much fun to the sequel as Guillermo Del Toro did to the original.

From a script that was co-written with Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder, and T.S. Nowlin, the film’s story was written by Guillermo del Toro. The film stars John BoyegaScott EastwoodTian JingCharlie DayAdria ArjonaBurn Gorman, Cailee Spaeny, and Rinko Kikuchi in the sequel, which will take place some time after the timeline of the original.

Here’s the official synopsis, provided by the website for the film:

It’s been ten years since The Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes. When the Kaiju threat returns, we will be ready.

Pacific Rim: Uprising‘ is set to be released on the loaded box office weekend of March 23, 2018.
