Colin Trevorrow No Longer Directing Star Wars Episode IX

Yet another director is out of a job when it comes to directing a Star Wars film. This time it’s Colin Trevorrow. Disney has released a statement regarding the departure of Trevorrow from Star Wars: Episode IX. Via StarWars.Com

Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.

This follows another director mix-up back in June of this year when Ron Howard took over directing duties for the Han Solo film after Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced the departure of directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

Colin Trevorrow’s most recent box office hit was Jurassic World. Trevorrow has yet to comment on the matter and as of now, there is no director named to take over directing Episode IX.

The next installment to the franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, hits theaters Dec. 15, 2017.

About Chris Salce

I'm a pop culture fanatic based out of Southern California. My collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia would even impress The Collector. When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
