‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Begins Production; Synopsis Revealed

Ant-Man and The Wasp has officially begun production! With a little under a year left until the film’s July 6, 2018 release date, this is certainly great news for fans who are clamoring for more adventures with their favorite miniature heroes. Although this quick of a turnaround for a movie this size is  certainly unusual, we will have three MCU films before this one even comes out. As the first film to follow Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and The Wasp should address some of the eventual fallout from the the MCU’s biggest movie to date. The penultimate question is how much time will be spent on universe building as opposed to telling the story of our heroes.

Director Peyton Reed will return to helm the film, with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly reprising their roles as the title characters, in addition to Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Most of the supporting cast will return. Michael Peña, T.I., Bobby CannavaleJudy Greer, Abby Ryder Fortson, and David Dastmalchian are all set to reprise their supporting roles in the sequel.

In addition, new cast members Laurence Fishburne (Dr. Bill Foster, a.k.a. Goliath), Walton Goggins (Sonny Burch), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne), and Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost), and Randall Park (Jimmy Woo) will make their MCU debuts in the movie.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.”  In the aftermath of “Captain America:  Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father.  As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
