Star Wars Legends, Stan Lee and More to be Honored at D23 Expo

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Disney Legends at the D23 Expo. If you have never heard of or had the chance to attend a Disney Legends ceremony, what it is is Disney honoring actors, filmmakers, composers or anyone that has made a significant impact in the film and television industry. I was lucky enough to attend the last Disney Legends ceremony where they honored George Lucas, Andreas Deja, Danny Elfman, Susan Lucci and even a surprise honoree Johnny Depp. This year’s honorees are another group of very well known names.

At this year’s Disney Legends ceremony, Disney will be honoring Carrie Fisher, Mark HamillClyde “Gerry” Geronim, Manuel Gonzales, Wayne Jackson, Stan Lee, Garry Marshall, Julie Taymor, and Oprah Winfrey. These Honorees will be awarded with a two-foot tall bronze sculpture.

The Disney Legends ceremony will take place at D23 in Anaheim, California on Friday, July 14, at 10 am. Admission to the ceremony will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is included in the price of a ticket to D23 Expo 2017. Price of the tickets for the expo 2017 are available for $81 for one-day adult admission and $59 for children 3–9. Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club can purchase tickets for $72 for a one-day adult admission and $53 for children 3–9. Multi-day tickets are also available. For more information on tickets and D23 Expo 2017, visit D23Expo.com.

About Chris Salce

I'm a pop culture fanatic based out of Southern California. My collection of comics and pop culture memorabilia would even impress The Collector. When I'm not busy writing about pop culture news, doing film reviews or interviewing celebs, my brother and I work on a comic book called Blood-RED (And yes, that was a cheap plug). I have a certificate of completion for a children’s storybook writing program.
