(AOTN) Contemporary Horror is having a big moment right now, SMT heads. And Michael O’Shea’s psychological vampire thriller, THE TRANSFIGURATION, is looking to have its moment in…well, if not the sun, at least something similar.
With Jordan Peele’s GET OUT making waves all across the film world, new horror topics and tropes abound right now. But that doesn’t mean there’s not room for new takes on old ideas. And with dynamic performances by newcomers Eric Ruffin and Chloe Levine, this official selection for Cannes definitely has bite.
But now’s the time for you to listen for yourself…

Challenged by a teacher who refuses to consent to his dogma, he sets out to eliminate her and subdue an entire community. At a time when arguments over the teaching of religion in public schools are prominent in the media, this wildly escalating classroom drama — based on a play by German playwright Marius von Mayenburg — serves as a frightening cautionary tale.
