‘Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fourth Season’ DVD Review

impracticaljokers_s4truTV’s hilarious hidden camera prank show Impractical Jokers is now into its fifth season. On October 11, truTV released the complete fourth season on DVD. Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fourth season contains all 26 episodes,  including the 100th Episode Live Punishment Episode, bloopers and deleted scenes but is this DVD set worth the buy? Well that’s actually a tricky question, let me explain…

When I first started watching Impractical Jokers, it was when I reviewed the complete third season DVD set for another site I used to write for. I loved the series so much that I went back to season one and watched every episode up until the most recent season. I have watched each episode at least two or three times each because no matter how many times I watch it, it still remains to make me laugh out loud. Of course, the same goes for this fourth season.

Every episode is hilarious and since each episode is about 22 minutes in length, it makes for a perfect binge watching show. Each disc contains eight episodes or more, so you can easily get through one disc in one sitting.

As for the bonus features, the behind-the-scenes bloopers, the promos for the 100th episode  and deleted scenes are funny but only last for about 10 to 15 minutes in total, so there’s not much added content. But then again, you get everything that you pretty much could want in a complete season DVD of a reality hidden camera prank show.

When it comes to the packaging of the DVD, it is well put together. You have your cover (shown on the top left corner of this article) with all four members of the Impractical Jokers crew, displayed on a cardboard slip case which covers the plastic disc case. The plastic case has the same image and contains the three discs. Three fourths of the Impractical Jokers are displayed on the discs, with Sal being the one not on a disc since he’s sitting front row on the cover of the DVD.

Overall I was really happy with the Impractical Jokers: The Complete Fourth Season DVD release. You can’t go wrong with a show like this. It’s funny, unpredictable and it never gets old. Where the “tricky” part of this review comes in is if I would recommend buying the DVD. TruTV often airs reruns of this series. Chances are if you turn your tv on right now and change the channel to truTV, Impractical Jokers is on. You can probably watch season four just buy tuning into truTV but it would take much longer to watch this particular season since the network doesn’t quite play a whole season through when they air reruns. If you do have the $24.98 laying around, which is the cost of the DVD, then by all means, go out and buy it. I guarantee you will laugh out loud at the ridiculous things these guys put each other through. It’s definitely one of my favorites shows on television right now.
