There have been several rumors floating around in regards to the sixth installment of FX’s horror anthology series “American Horror Story” especially in regards to the upcoming story line. It was strongly rumored that the sixth installment would be set during an apocalypse of some sort, but somehow we see this series staying away from the whole zombie-craze phenomenon. There was also some buzz that the series would take on the infamous “Slender Man” legend, however nothing has been confirmed at this time.
Series creator Ryan Murphy recently revealed a few details about the upcoming season during PaleyFest in Los Angeles saying that the creative team behind the series has always been fascinated with the opera and that because AHS: Hotel dealt strongly with child vampires, due to the fact that horror often deals with the innocence of children and their wide-eyed way into it, they are also exploring two ideas for season six that will have elements of children. Perhaps we could see a Phantom of the Opera type theme? That could be epic!
The upcoming season will begin production this coming September and returning cast members will include Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Angela Basset, Sarah Paulson, Finn Whittrock, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson and Mat Bomer. Here’s hoping we will hear an announcement about Jessica Lange making a return as well! Either way we are super excited for the upcoming season and will enjoy the speculation!
