The first look at Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming Netflix series, Trollhunters, was released and it looks fantastical.

Trollhunters, debuting later this year, is an all-ages series that unleashes a world of fantasy wrapped around the residents of the fictional suburb of Arcadia who make a startling discovery that the world beneath their hometown is as vast and mind-blowing as anything on the surface.

Guillermo del Toro is known for brining fantasy to life and making it look insanely beautiful as it is dark and mysterious. In the image released, the fantasy definitely shows and of course, with anything del Toro is attached to, it has the element of mystery. You can sort of make out the face of the creature if you look closely. The creature seems to be a cross of a few animals all rolled into one.

I’m definitely interested in this series, which is describe as “vast and vibrant worlds with complex human and troll characters that create a cinematic television experience.”
