I am a Hero

Trailer Debut: Dark Horse’s “I am a Hero”

I am a HeroThe Undead seem to be something of a growing, world-wide problem. Fortunately, Dark Horse Comic’s  new manga adaptation from Japan, “I am a Hero” has the cure in the form a shotgun wielding manga creator.

A mentally unhinged manga artist witnesses the beginning of a zombie outbreak in Tokyo, and he’s certain of only two things: he’s destined to be the city’s hero, and he possesses something quite rare in Japan—an actual firearm! The Shogakukan Manga Award winner comes to Dark Horse on April 26th! Contains I Am a Hero Japanese volumes 1 and 2.

From Wikipedia: A down-on-his-luck manga artist struggling to publish his own work while maintaining both a day job as another artist’s assistant and a strained relationship with his girlfriend. Hideo is slightly paranoid and mentally disturbed, often having conversations with an imaginary figure named Yajima, hallucinating the presence of faces around him, and fantasizing about how conversations with his co-workers and girlfriend should proceed. One day, the world as Hideo knows it is shattered by presences of a disease that turns people into homicidal maniacs, whose first instinct is to attack and devour the nearest human. Armed with only his sporting shotgun, he runs for his life, meeting strangers along the way. All the while, he and his companions struggle to stay alive, while questioning their moral choices.
