Andrew Lincoln And Lauren Cohen Reveal Why The Season Six Finale Of AMC’s The Walking Dead Will Be The Darkest One Yet!

The rumors are swirling that we will meet the infamous Negan in the season six finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” and judging by the recent reactions from cast members Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohen in regards to filming the upcoming finale, the series certainly appears to be heading down a very dark path.

We have learned in the past that no character, despite how beloved, is necessarily safe so, therefore it is very likely that we will be losing yet another character at some point during the finale. Those that have read the Walking Dead comic book series can already pretty much guess who it will be, however the producers of “The Walking Dead” are sometimes known to throw the audience a curve ball or two.

During an interview with CinemaBlend, actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, had the following to say about the season six finale, “I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.”

Actress Lauren Cohen, who plays Maggie, went into even more details about just how difficult it was to shoot the upcoming finale telling EW, “The word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life. I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn’t want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel okay again after the finale, let’s put it that way.”

We can only imagine what the rest of season six will hold in-store for us! Filming wrapped a bit ago and the cast has been kept under strict secrecy about any upcoming plot details. A Russian FOX affiliate recently leaked out a huge spoiler by the way of promotional art for the upcoming season, however AMC has yet to either confirm or deny that the artwork is legitimate. We don’t believe in posting those kinds of spoilers here, so feel free to Google it if you are curious.

The Walking Dead has already been renewed for Season 7 and the upcoming mid-season premiere will air on February 14 at 9:00pm ET, so be sure to tune in and thank you AMC for the best Valentine’s Day gift ever … who needs roses and chocolates when you have Daryl Dixon and Zombies!
