Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of the most interesting films to be released this year. Not because of the decisive nature of people’s reactions to the quality of the film, but the reaction and aftermath of the film, which essentially broke Joss Whedon. While the film itself was cut down dramatically in post-production, many of the scenes (such as this one) that were trimmed have been included on the Marvel Phase 2 Box Set. Check out the expanded scene below:

While I can see why this was left on the cutting room floor, I really would have loved to have seen this sequence completed and put back into the film. It would be interesting to see some version of a director’s cut, but we all know from past experience that Marvel is not necessarily a filmmaker-driven studio.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is certainly a massive disappointment in my opinion, and more than anything, serves as a reminder that you can have a movie that is too big for it’s own good. You can read our review of the film HERE. This deleted scene is one of many special features that were withheld from the single-disc releases for each of these films, which in itself is a frustrating affair. Regardless, this box set is sure to include many special items littered throughout these discs.
