While out at San Diego Comic Con we caught up with Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid to talk about what is on the forecast!

Ian-Ziering

When asked where he would like to take a Sharknado in the future Ziering tells us “that is such a hard questions as there are some many wonderful coastal cities around the world, but definitely Tokyo or parts of Asia would be amazing”.  He also told us his thoughts on why sharks have become such a pop culture phenomenon saying “They have been for quite some time. As we learn more and more about them the curse of the shark is getting lifted. They are better understood and are very intelligent creatures. With anything new there is always excitement and Shark Week has been going on for quite some time now and that brought about a resurgence of interest in the mid-90’s with new research. Sharknado pokes fun at all that coincidentally, but well-timed.”

Ziering also says that working with David Hasselhoff on Sharknado was an awesome experience as well and that he was a “great guy”.

Tara-Reid

Actress Tara Reid says that her initial thoughts on Sharknado 3 were “how are they ever going top the last ones, but they definitely came up with a truly amazing script and it is going to be incredibly entertaining”.  She goes on to say that having an iconic actress like Bo Derek play her mother was truly amazing and that audiences are going to be surprised by some of what they will see in Sharknado 3.

When asked why Sharknado resonates well with viewers Reid says ” I think it is the craziness of it all. Just the whole concept of tornadoes and sharks and the absurdity. You just say it and you laugh, but what makes it is that we are playing it straight.”
