One of the things that I look forward to when going to San Diego Comic-Con every year is is the communal experience that it provides. Everyone who is there loves what they love and have no problems expressing that love to anyone around them. The most prominent form of this that has dominated fan convention culture is that of cosplay, the art of immersing yourself into characters you love not only on a physical level, but a mental one as well.
Over the years, cosplay has become one of the biggest parts of the San Diego Comic-Con experience. Cosplay has reached mainstream appeal, and has gotten to the point where even your average joe knows what the term means. Cosplay is one of the most fun, interesting, and creative ways for fans to literally put their geeky-ness on display. This year was no different. Below are photos of Cosplay, the San Diego Comic-Con show floor, as well as photos of the multiple offsite events that are hosted every year in the gas lamp district for the weekend.
My hope is that by sharing these photos, those of you that weren’t able to make it to San Diego Comic-Con will be able to experience the Massive nature of the event. When I say that the 4 of us who covered the con for this site were not able to see even half of the events and programs that were offered throughout the week, it gives you an idea of how large it really is. Hopefully you will enjoy!
