Terminator Genisys is an upcoming 2015 American science fiction action film directed by Alan Taylor (Thor 2) and written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. It is the fifth installment in the Terminator series, and will act as a sequel and a reboot to the series. Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role as the eponymous character, along with newcomers Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Lee Byung-hun, Matt Smith, and J. K. Simmons. The film is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on July 1, 2015. In addition to opening in regular theaters, it will also be shown in 3D, Real 3D, and IMAX 3D.

So I know what some of you might be thinking, “But Tommy, its yet another Terminator film and the last one wasn’t so great.” Well I am here to tell you a few reasons why I think you maybe wrong. So without further ado, here and my Top 5 Reasons Terminator Genisys Will Be Awesome!

5. The Cast
By now most people know who Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones) and if you don’t you probably don’t watch the show. But she has shown her acting chops in Game of thrones and now it is her turn to play Sarah Conner and show what she can really do. Jason Clarke (Dawn of the planet of the Apes) is on board as John Connar and he is slowly becoming one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Of course we have Arnold Schwarzenegger bringing back the T-800 and we are sure to get the awesome one liners and cheesey sense of humor we have all came to love from Arnold. There are a few dark horse actors in here who I am sure will also help with the film as well.

4. It’s over the top.
It’s time to let Terminator just go completely over the top, I for one happen to be a huge fan of practical effects but even I realize as fan of the franchise that its time to cut loose and let the special effects go crazy. This film seems to do just that from what I have seen from the teaser trailer. I for one can’t wait to see how much they cut loose with the action and special effects Terminator film franchise was born for this and watching a Cgi T-800 jump into a helicopter seems like the perfect thing to do.

3. It feels like a video game.
Sometimes a franchise gets to a point where it is completely gone from reality. Terminator started as film that could happen moved to the next film that made it feel like reality and into a 3rd and 4th film where nothing seemed really natural. It’s time to turn the fun back on and let this film have the video game feel, as I noted earlier let the special effects take over and give it that feel to the viewer that everything and anything goes. Plus the music is being made Lorne Balfe (Call of Duty, Assassins Creed 3 and Crysis 2) anyone can see that this film is going to be for the fanboys.

2. A twist in the series.
I haven’t seen a new trailer, but for what I have gathered there is a new story line that is going to happen instead of your typical bad terminator chases good guys. But I wont elaborate much on this one.

1. James Cameron is somewhat involved.
James Cameron is not directly involved in the new film Terminator Genisys, he did give them some pretty plot-pivotal advice—specifically about how this new film could incorporate a 67-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger into the new Terminator franchise. He explained that the skin on The Terminators are actually skin and how they would age. He also watched the film and enjoyed. He’s been noted for saying that he hated T3 and Salvation but felt that this film is putting Terminator back to where it belongs. That for me is a big deal and hopefully he just isn’t pulling the fan’s chain.
