J.K. Rowling Announces New Harry Potter Play

Harry Potter fans around the world are rejoicing now that author J.K. Rowling has announced a New Harry Potter Play, titled “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child”.  The news was totally unexpected and came as a wonderful gift for fans of the series.

Rowling posted a series of tweets that revealed both the name of the play, as well as, that it will open in London in the summer of 2016 at The Palace Theater. The play will tell an entirely new story and is the completed work of a collaboration between writer Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany and Rowling.

Nearly as soon as the tweets were posted they immediately went viral along with the hashtag #CursedChild. No additional details about the storyline for the play has been revealed, however fans are anxiously awaiting more news.

Rowling’s Harry Potter novels have sold over 450 million copies worldwide, as well as, eight films with a ninth film on the way later this year. Rowling says that she has received countless offers over the years to extend Harry’s story, however she has found her “dream team” with those involved in putting together the play.
