‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Official Teaser #2: Heavy on Nostalgia

J.J Abrams has released another teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  We got our first look at the film back in November of last year, and now we get a close look at the next Star Wars installment.  Today at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California the newest trailer was revealed.  The first teaser focused on introducing the new characters, while the new trailer leans more on the nostalgia side.  We see some familiar faces, as well as more of the new players, complete with a Mark Hamill voice over.  Too much talking, enjoy the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser.

Enjoy!

Wow!  Try watching that trailer just once, it’s impossible.  The most striking image of the entire trailer is the crashed Star Destroyer on the planet we now know is called Jakku, where one of our heroes Rey (Daisy Ridley) is seen speeding at the bottom of frame.  Then some nice Luke Skywalker V.O. compliments some nice new images, including the skeletal remains of Darth Vader.  Luke talks about the lineage of his family and from what I’ve gathered is this V.O. is actually from Return of the Jedi, re-cut to fit the trailer.

We get plenty of new shots that only increase our expectations to an even higher level.  I love what they’ve done here with the first two teasers.  They’ve shown just enough, and there are so many aspects of the movie the filmmakers are holding onto and keeping tight-lipped.  They brought back Han, Chewy and a quick glimpse of Luke and possibly Leia.  The music instantly brings the audience back into the world we love so dearly, and it’s great to see this new iteration coming together.  The trailer closes brilliantly with Han and Chewy.
