DOOM: Brand New ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer

Leaked trailers have been a problem this week.  It’s a problem for the studios and their marketing strategies, but great for nerds everywhere.  First the Batman V Superman trailer leaked, and now the new Fantastic Four trailer.  Fox has officially released the trailer after said leak, and it gives us a closer look at not only our four heroes, but Doom himself.

Here’s the new official Fantastic Four trailer:

The trailer gives a much clearer picture of the plot than the original teaser.  We get a look at the powers that will take over the Fantastic Four, and finally get a glimpse at the heavily debated look of Tobey Kebbell’s Doom.  It was known that in this iteration, he would not be Victor Von Doom but rather Victor Domashev.  The rumor that he’s nothing more than a terrorist blogger seem a bit of an overreaction, at least from my initial trailer reaction.

I’m loving the tone of film so far.  Sure it’s dark and somber but the new trailer also highlights Fantastic Four’s sense of humor.  Humor was inevitable given the cast, and it’s great to see how it will be applied in the movie.

Here’s the official synopsis:

THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Tobey Kebbell.  The film hits theaters August 7, 2015.
