Age of The Nerd
After what seems like an eternity, the long-in-the-works Deadpool spinoff is finally getting in front of cameras. Last week, star Ryan Reynolds tweeted the first “image” from the set, and now Reynolds has tweeted the first official image of himself in costume.
The costume itself isn’t anything too radical, but i’m just happy that the thing is real. No doubt that the film will have to employ visual effects to put the finishing touches on the suit (most notably his eyes), but has been notorious for starring in comic franchise non-starters (Green Lantern the most notable of these). With this in mind, I truly believe that he was born to play the role of the merc with a mouth. As you may have guessed, the film will be an origin story with a large revenge element, according to the synopsis.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
