Director James Mangold Offers Small Update on ‘The Wolverine 2’

With three X-Men movies currently deep in pre-production, all of which are slated for release in 2016 (‘Deadpool’, ‘X-Men: Apocalypse & Gambit’), Fox is now shifting it’s attention to ‘The Wolverine 2’, which is currently set for release on March 3, 2017. Director James mangold took to twitter today to offer an update, saying that shooting is expected to begin “Early Next Year”.

While this is not a large amount of either new or definitive information about  ‘The Wolverine 2’, it does give us an idea of when we might begin to hear more about the story and overall direction of the film. Writer David James Kelly is currently away penning the film, but with three films still due to be made before this, I can imagine this film being radio silent until Hugh Jackman begins doing press rounds for ‘X:Men Apocalypse’ in spring of next year. Stay tuned for updates, as Mangold will surely keep us posted vis his twitter in the future.
