A new Spectre video blog is now online, and it features director Sam Mendes talking about the direction that the 24th incarnation of the franchise will have to offer. Here is the video, with some commentary afterwards.

While we do know that the Spectre organization will tie in as “a second part of a crucial story to Bond’s childhood”, Mendes makes it seem that this will again play a major part of Bond’s story within the film. I just hope that Mendes doesn’t break too much of the character’s mistique in the process.
Stay tuned for more info as we come closer to the release date of Spectre, but in the meantime, here is the logline for Spectre:
A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
