First ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer is Finally Here

Josh Trank’s new iteration of Fantastic Four has been shrouded in secrecy.  In this day and age, it’s almost unheard of for studios to keep their superhero films away from the spotlight, but that’s exactly what FOX has done with the new Fantastic Four.  This has led almost everyone who uses the internet to voice their concerns about the new take on the classic superhero group.  We of course have already gotten two subpar versions of team in 2005 and 2007 respectively, which don’t help fans faith in the ability to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen.  That said, the creative team behind the new film should help quell the worries around the film.

The first trailer is surprisingly dark, both in tone and visually.  The trailer is also surprisingly good, and perfectly sets up more to come.  The plot details have still not been explored, but the new film will sway away from the other versions where the team is hit by cosmic rays on their way to the moon.  Instead, the new film will follow a young Reed Richards who helps discover and develop teleportation technology.

Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Tobey Kebbell.  The film hits theaters August 7, 2015.
