‘Terminator Genisys’ Official Trailer

The last two installments in the Terminator universe were not well received, to say the least.  While they were moderately profitable, they failed to resinate with critics and most importantly, the fans.  Much like 2009’s Terminator Salvation, the fifth installment Terminator Genisys is intended to be the start of a new trilogy.  It didn’t turn out well for McG’s fourth Terminator, but hopefully they learned their lesson.

Directed by veteran HBO and Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor, Terminator Genisys looks to right the wrongs of previous installments.  The budget is huge, the cast is amazing, and it’s really now or never for a franchise on its last leg.  It will be interesting to see if the filmmakers can reignite the fire fans once had for a once beloved franchise.

Here’s the first official trailer.

Synopsis:

After finding himself in a new time-line, Kyle Reese teams up with John Connor’s mother Sarah and an aging terminator to try and stop the one thing that the future fears, “Judgement Day”.

Terminator Genisys stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, and J.K. Simmons.

Personally I’m emotionally divided from the initial trailer.  It looks incredibly fun, but the quality looks strangely cheap.  I hope they don’t rely too much on Arnold Schwarzenegger and create other compelling characters.  We shall see!  Terminator Genisys opens in theaters July 1st.  Let us know what you think.  Are you excited?  Or have you have enough Terminator franchise salvations?
