First Trailer for Ridley Scott’s ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’

Ridley Scott is returning to the sword and sandal genre with his new film Exodus: Gods and Kings, and so far, the results look rather familiar.  The visuals look great, and the cast is spectacular, yet personally I’m still not excited for the film.  Exodus looks to follow the recent trend of Hollywood re-telling of classic biblical stories, we’ll see how the results turn out.  I do trust the talent involved, it’s just hard to get excited about another sub-par sword and sandal movie (There have been few since Scott’s own 2000 masterpiece Gladiator), although, i suppose that can be easily debated.

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
