Box Office: ‘Apes’ Survive ‘The Purge’

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was able to hold off the three new wide releases, finishing in first with an estimated $36 million.  In the ten days since its release, Planet of the Apes has earned around $139 million.

The-Purge-Anarchy-2The Purge: Anarchy finished it’s opening weekend with an estimated $28.4 million, around six million short of the originals $34 million opening weekend.  The film cost only around $9 million to make, so it has already turned a profit.
