Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring “Sin City” back to the big screen. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with a few new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.
The first trailer did a good job creating buzz and highlighting a stacked cast. The only problem is its been nine years since the original “Sin City” hit the theaters. There is definitely still a demand for a sequel amongst Frank Miller’s fan base and the dedicated following the film has built up over the years, but the average movie-goer hasn’t spent the past decade thinking about “Sin City”.

Released same day as Frank Miller’s “300” sequel hit the heaters, the first trailer did a good job showcasing the visual aesthetics that fans loved, but didn’t really provide much information surrounding the story. The follow up trailer (posted above) introduces us to the all the key characters and gives us a much better sense of the over aching story, and how they plan on continuing from where the first one left off.
There’s a lot to look forward to in a sequel like this, besides Miller’s dark story telling. The one main benefit about waiting almost a decade in between installments, is the advancement in camera technology allows Rodriguez and company to continue to bring life to the graphic novels through the use of modern digital effects. Let’s just hope enough people are still interested in another Frank Miller sequel, coming out years later it should.
“Sin City: A Day to Kill For”stars Jessica Alba, Eva Green, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson and Lady Gaga.
