Captain America: The Winter Soldier Trailer 1

Fans got see a sneak peek of Captain America 2 at this years San-Diego Comic Con, along with clips from other phase 2 installments such as ThorGuardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Since then the internet has been overflowing with rumors such as casting choices and potential story arcs but with little evidence to go.

With the release of Thor: The Dark World opening in the U.K next week and November 8th domestically, Marvel has decided to take advantage of the publicity to begin heavy promotion of the next chapter in their cinematic universe, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Check out the first official trailer below!

In the past few months Marvel has only released a handful of official casting announcements, teaser footage, or trailers (excluding the increasingly marketed Thor 2), leaving us speculating over leaked footage and insider rumors. We now have something solid to go on, and so far it seems the hype is true. Here is the official synopsis of the film:

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier looks like it could be the best installment in the Marvel franchise yet. With a release date of April 10th 2014, we still have some time before we see the Captain back on the big screen, but it looks like it will be worth the wait.
